Colour Photography

Colour Photography
Can you find Image evidence of the technique?

When was it first discovered and by whom? In 1873 Herman Vogel discovered sensitising dyes, which was a step forward in the pursuit of full colour photography. As a result of his work, "orthochromatic" plates, sensitive to all colours with the exception of red, were produced. Though the invention of photography it had an immediate impact on the whole art world.

What is special about the technique? Colour photography is special because it uses colours that work well with the human eye,
One dominated by red, another by green and the third by blue, in imitation of the way the normal human eye senses color

How does this technique work? Can you find or describe the processes needed to make it work? Maybe illustrate how it is made. From his studies of color vision, Maxwell found that all the colors of nature could be counterfeited to the eye by mixing only three pure colors of light – red, green and blue – in proportions which would stimulate the three types of cells to the same degrees that the "real" colors did.                 Color Spectrum

Can you comment how important this technique has been for the history of photography? For example was it popular and is it still used today? The use of color has can have a major effect on the overall way someone interprets your picture. It is the art of understanding how color makes a good photograph and using it to create great photos that separates professional photographers from gifted amateurs, color photography is more important today as we use it in our everyday routine.
Digital Photography

Can you find Image evidence of the technique?

When was it first discovered and by whom?
Steven J. Sasson (b. 1950) was an electrical engineer and the inventor of the digital camera. His invention began in 1975 with a very broad assignment from his supervisor at Eastman Kodak Company, Gareth A. Lloyd: Could a camera be built using solid state electronics, solid state imagers, and an electronic sensor known as a charge coupled device (CCD) that gathers optical information.
What is special about the technique? There are many different techniques created by using a digital camera such as image editing which is where you can crop images and use various tools to make the image effective and unique. Here are many of the different options you can create using a digital camera.
Selection
Layers
Image size alteration
Cropping an image
Histogram
Noise reduction
Removal of unwanted elements
Selective colour change
Image orientation
Perspective control and distortion
Lens correction
Enhancing images
Sharpening and softening images
Selecting and merging of images
Slicing of images
Special effects
Change colour depth
Contrast change and brightening
Gamma correction
Colour adjustments
Printing

How does this technique work? Can you find or describe the processes needed to make it work? Maybe illustrate how it is made. Cropping creates a new image by selecting a desired rectangular portion from the image being cropped. The unwanted part of the image is discarded. Image cropping does not reduce the resolution of the area cropped. Best results are obtained when the original image has a high resolution. A primary reason for cropping is to improve the image composition in the new image.

Can you comment how important this technique has been for the history of photography? For example was it popular and is it still used today? Cropping is an easy yet important step to consider when editing photos. Every image editing program has a crop tool that lets you trim, or eliminate, the edges of an image. Of course not every photo you take needs cropping. However, the visual impact and composition of many photos can be greatly improved when thoughtfully cropped.

Daguerrotype

Can you find Image evidence of the technique?

When was it first discovered and by whom?
- The daguerreotype was discorvered by louis daguerre.

What is special about the technique?
- The technique is special because the same picture can only be used one time making it creative and unique

How does this technique work?
- It's a photographic image allowing no direct transfer of the image onto another light-sensitive medium, as opposed to glass plate or paper negatives.

Can you find or describe the processes needed to make it work? Maybe illustrate how it is made.

-Its photographed onto a mirror with silver halide which is then rubbed onto leather the process takes around 15-20 minutes.

Can you comment how important this technique has been for the history of photography. For example was it popular and is it still used today?
- This object was used to create photography. However, it is not used today.
